however, it seems that USB Overdrive somehow makes the Magic Mouse unable to function properly or fully, regardless of what app or driver is used for it. so, my idea was to keep the logitech g5 plugged in, and USB Overdrive installed, and use the logitech for 3D/graphics apps, and use the Magic Mouse + BetterTouchTool for everything else. That said, i still love the scrolling and gestures, and don’t wanna give them up. it’s become a completely unworkable situation. i find it constantly “accidentally” scrolling, which will cause all manner of sliders and buttons to get adjusted at random. Secondly place the USBInjectAll.kext (v0.7.3) into the EFI/OC/Kexts folder on your installer USB drive. Although I don't get the device to show up in the listing of devices controlled by USB Overdrive (as the Apple keyboard does), the button assignments are, so far, working as intended. but, and this is a big but, it can be incredibly jumpy/touchy/spastic in certain apps, chief among them, Cinema 4D and Photoshop/After Effects. However, with a real Mac, and MacPro3,1 system definition, you will have other problems trying to install Big Sur anyway (as you already know) as support in macOS for this model has long been dropped. I downloaded USB Overdrive and it seems to work great. it was very awkward at first, but i’ve come to love the gestures, and especially the 360° scrolling. So, i tried it about a month ago, and have been using it since. Hey detects it but not correctly and doe. But today I got the problem that the device doesnt recognice the USB correctly (did a format on another device with fat32 and ntfs) still, wont work. i was thinking of buying a new mouse, when a friend pointed out that i had a brand new unopened Magic Mouse, that came with my iMac last year, that i’d never bothered trying. And first I could use USB flash drives as usual. 5 years perhaps? anyway, it looks like a piece of crap, but functionally is pretty amazing, with the best precision and cursor movement/smoothness that i’ve probably ever seen.īut, i’ve been lamenting its lack of buttons lately, especially as i get more into 3D (Cinema 4D & After Effects).
